September 17 (11:30 am-12:30 pm): The Mystery of Aging Well
Aging is an incredible opportunity for us to live enriching and satisfying lives. Research has consistently demonstrated that there are at least three things we can do to help change our aging trajectory. Join us for an interesting (but not surprising) exploration into these three health behaviors and why you should care about them. We will also look at a surprising health wildcard that may be more malleable and important than was previously thought.
October 15 (11:30 am-12:30 pm): Fall Risks, Balance, and Fall Prevention
Most of us are aware that our balance and steadiness declines as we age. One in 4 adults over the age of 65 falls each year. Lets discuss why this happens and what you can do to help prevent falls and improve your balance to lessen the risk of fall-related injuries.
November 12 (11:30 am-12:30 pm): Common Injuries & Prevention for the Adult Athlete
Learn about common injuries that adult athletes may experience in lifelong sports like tennis, running, golf, and other activities. We will discuss ways to help with prevention and introduce interventions to manage common injuries. We will leave time for questions you may have for the physical therapist.
